Membership in the Association is open to anyone who has retired from staff positions at the University of Saskatchewan and its federated and affiliated colleges, including staff employed under research grants and contracts.

Also eligible are persons who have been employed by the University of Saskatchewan for 6 or more years and have reached the age of 55 years.

Benefits Available To All Retirees

Please note the USRA represents all retirees and continues to negotiate benefits on your behalf through our MOU.

The University extends the following benefits to all staff after retirement:

  • Eligible for IT services (NSID login required)
  • Library services
  • Retirees Lounge and USRA office on campus
  • Professor Emeritus support
  • Participation in life of the University, including continuing education opportunities

The USRA has a representative on the Alumni Association Board to speak for retiree interests.

CURAC Benefits Available Only To USRA Members

USRA is a member of The College and University Retirees Associations of Canada (CURAC). Benefits to our members through CURAC include:

Membership Dues

Membership is free in the first year after retirement.

After that you can pay either the budget friendly annual fee, or purchase a Lifetime Membership. Lifetime Memberships are a good investment for the following reasons:

  • Over time, it usually saves the member money as well as the time and effort of renewing annually;
  • A Lifetime Membership can be inherited by a deceased member’s spouse / partner, who can continue to enjoy USRA activities and friendships whether or not he / she is also a University of Saskatchewan retiree. 

Membership dues are:

New retirees (in first year of retirement) $0
Annual membership (July - June) $20
Lifetime Membership (prorated by age):
<60 years $200
60-64 $180
65-69 $160
70-74 $130
75-79 $100
80+ $70

Complete application form and mail it with your cheque payable to USask Retirees Assoc. to our office.

Apply by email and use e-transfer for payment (two steps):
